• Binance — Ethereum Bridge: In early September, we announced the launch of our ETH-BEP Bridge — a secure protocol that facilitates the seamless transfer of tokens between the Ethereum and Binance networks, starting with the Cogito Protocol Governance token CGV. You can access the bridge from here.
• BGA Membership: We have officially joined the Blockchain Game Alliance to help enable the next generation of blockchain-based gaming platforms and experiences.
• Generative AI Vs. AGI: In a new paper, CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel explains why the incremental improvement of modern LLMs is not a viable approach to working toward human-level AGI and explores the efforts to close the gap between generative AI and AGI and the merits of the Hyperon-based “Neural Space” approach.

Community DAO and Supervisory Council Election

To further strengthen the decentralization of the SingularityNET Foundation and ecosystem, we have announced a voting process to form the next Supervisory Council.

The renewed Council will serve as a bridge between the Foundation’s executive team and the community, facilitating communication, interoperation, the growth of decentralization, and alignment with our foundational values.

Community members will elect the members of the renewed Council, so it’s crucial that everyone participates. Learn more about the voting and application processes in our latest blog post and a special blog post from Ben, and catch up on the two insightful AMA sessions we held in September:

• Watch the first Supervisory Council Election AMA with Janet Adams, Jan Horlings, Esther Galfalvi, and Peter Elfrink to learn about the application and voting processes and the importance of bottom-up governance and community involvement.

Deep Funding Round 3

The Round 3 journey is off to a flying start, with a record-breaking number of proposals passing the eligibility review phase. 120 out of 136 submissions have been deemed eligible for the next phase, representing an incredible 110% increase from Round 2. This is a testament to the growing interest in and excitement for the Deep Funding program, as well as the high quality of proposals submitted.

Voting for Round 3 proposals has started on Monday, October 2nd. Make sure to cast your vote before Sunday, October 8th at 23:59 UTC on the Deep Funding voting portal. Get involved and have your say in the future of the SingularityNET marketplace by voting for the projects you would like to see funded.

• The Mindplex team is holding a writing contest for future-focused articles to encourage critical thinking on various topics and foster a community of forward-thinking individuals dedicated to shining a light on a brighter tomorrow.
• With a completely new look and feel, the Mindplex team revealed their new landing page, which offers deeper insight into the team, tools, and vision of the Mindplex project.

HyperCycle

• The HyperCycle team shared a community update, providing clarity on the “Beta Uptime Tiling” phase and detailing how they plan to grant access to the SingularityDAO community to the HyperPG Early Deployment Program.

SingularityDAO

• SingularityDAO is leveling up with DynaVaults. This major shift from DynaSets sets a new standard in AI-driven asset management. Dive into their latest article to explore the strategies and potential of the new Pv2 version.

Rejuve Biotech

• The Flybase was an important topic of conversation at the recent Face-to-Face meetup for the OpenCog Hyperon team in Dubai, including discussions on how to integrate the next component of Hyperon, the Probability Logic Networks (PLN).

IFA Berlin

We were proud to attend IFA Berlin 2023, the world’s largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, to showcase our latest innovations in AI, AGI R&D, and social robotics.

On September 3rd, COO Janet Adams presented a keynote entitled “The Path to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): The Future of Humanity Depends on Diversity.” In her talk, she highlighted the merits of decentralized AI and examined the potential of frontier technologies to help solve humanity’s most pressing challenges as the planet comes under increasing pressure from reduced resources. She also discussed our renewed platform strategy and plans for augmenting our AGI tech stack.

IFA Berlin covered every aspect of the tech industry, and this year’s event attracted more than 180,000 visitors from over 140 countries. More than 2,000 exhibitors, global business leaders, and industry experts came together to establish valuable connections and discuss how innovative technologies are changing the world.

At the event, attendees visited the SingularityNET booth at the Robotics Hub to meet the team, took selfies, and recorded videos with the lovely Desdemona robot from Yaya Labs.

Crypto Expo Dubai

Chair of the SingularityNET Supervisory Council, David Orban, delivered an impassioned keynote address on the importance of ethics at the intersection of decentralization and artificial intelligence at Crypto Expo Dubai.

In his address, David praised SingularityNET’s progressive decentralization efforts and commitment to fostering community participation, decentralized decision-making, and diversity of thought in developing frontier technologies and addressing their technological and societal challenges. He highlighted the Deep Funding initiative, the SingularityNET Ambassador program, the Decentralized Governance Summit, and other community-driven governance events as concrete examples of this commitment.

David’s keynote was a thought-provoking and inspiring exploration of the ethical implications of decentralization and AI. He challenged us to think critically about the choices we are making today and to work together to create a future that benefits all of humanity.

OpenCog Hyperon meetup

We hosted a technical OpenCog Hyperon meetup in Dubai. The meetup was attended by our AGI team, partners, and external experts from around the world.

The meetup was a great success, with lively discussions and presentations on a wide range of topics related to Hyperon and AGI. We covered topics such as the core Hyperon cognitive architecture, the novel MeTTa AGI language, the integration of LLMs into Hyperon, the rho calculus and hypervectors, and the potential applications of Hyperon in the real world.

One of the key takeaways from the meetup is that the field of AI is making rapid progress. There were many exciting new ideas and breakthroughs presented at the meetup, and it is clear that AGI is on the verge of becoming a reality.

Another highlight from the meetup was announcing that Hyperon development is on track for Alpha release in March 2024.

When we previewed the first Hyperon development roadmap in 2020, we laid out an ambitious timeline for progressing AGI R&D. In 2023, we updated our development roadmap to present an even more ambitious plan for scaling Hyperon. We are proud to say that we have met all of our commitments to date, and we believe we will continue to do so.

We are committed to developing Hyperon in an open, responsible, and ethical way, and we look forward to working with external and open-source developers to ensure that human-level AGI systems are loving, compassionate, and helpful to humans.
