On day 1 of the Future Blockchain Summit in Dubai, COO Janet Adams joined a stellar panel of industry experts to discuss the investment frenzy over generative artificial intelligence.
Janet highlighted the importance of aligning AI projects with broader organizational goals. She noted that many AI projects, while technically sound, sometimes miss the mark in real-world applications. She also discussed the importance of education, mentioning that without the right experts at each stage of the AI pipeline, projects might not yield the desired outcomes. Janets intervention was a clear reminder that the success of AI projects hinges on the right combination of people, technology, and business strategy.
Diving deeper into the challenges surrounding generative AI, Janet also highlighted the emerging ethical challenges, from data through model risk to governance. With issues concerning data permissions and potential copyright infringements gaining prominence, she emphasized the merits of decentralized governance and blockchain in addressing these dilemmas by bringing transparency, inclusion, and fairness. Lastly, echoing the broader sentiment on the panel, Janet voiced concerns about the dominance of tech giants, suggesting that their overwhelming presence could stifle the innovation of startups.
On day 2, Janet joined Brian Benedict Rose, Founder and Host of London Real, for a wide-ranging fireside chat at the Future Blockchain Summit on the impending AGI revolution and the potential for technology to solve the pressing problems we face today and achieve broadly shared prosperity in our society.
The discussion further touched on the concrete steps we are taking to achieve this vision, including developing our decentralized AI marketplace, the OpenCog Hyperon AGI framework, and Zarqa, the next generation of neural-symbolic LLMs. Janet specifically mentioned the potential of Zarqa to democratize frontier technologies and ensure their benefits are disseminated universally by offering easy and open access to intelligent and creative AI models and technology-generated wealth.
This insightful conversation was also an opportunity to further the collective dialogue on the responsible development and safe adoption of AGI and to highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion throughout the AI lifecycle.
